About The Brandon Ross Fund
Our Vision
Brandon does not get any more years on this Earth, and we do not get to spend time in his physical presence. He was such a beautiful soul, always empathetic and caring to others. So many of his classmates have commented how he always lifted the mood of the room, making everyone around him smile and laugh. We are shattered by his loss, and wish to honour his legacy with annual donations to causes that would be important to Brandon.
Funding Priorities
1. Art Lives On - Brandon was a prolific artist. He had such an imagination, and drew constantly. We commemorated Brandon with a public art project featuring his art, and now want to support other grieving parents to memorialize their kids.
2. Animal Welfare
Brandon loved his dogs, cats, and all animals for that matter. His caring and empathetic soul made him connect deeply with the many foster dogs we had stay at our house. We will continue to honour Brandon with ongoing fostering and by giving to the Calgary Humane Society annually in Brandon's name.
3. Non-traditional scholarships.
Brandon was smart, assessed as being borderline gifted. He didn’t love school though. We have no idea where life may have taken Brandon, but we think he would appreciate it if we could help other kids like him to discover their passions. We envision enabling scholarships for kids that want to pursue careers in the trades or the arts, fields where students have fewer scholarship opportunities than universities.

Please consider contributing. All funds are administered through the Calgary Foundation, who will provide tax receipts. We plan on growing the fund over time, and contributing to these causes via the investment proceeds, so that Brandon’s legacy will ripple through the world year after year.
